Yizkor a prayer that touches the depths of the heart .
What time is Yizkor prayer ?
Yizkor is a prayer that is said four times a year in the Jewish calendar in memory of loved lost ones it said on Yom Kippur on the second days of Passover second day of Shabbat and the last days of Sukkot.
The prayer Yizkor as its name implies is about memory we asked God to remember those who we lost those we love and to benefit their soul and a fascinating aspect of this prayer is that it’s not stagnant we don’t say God please remember them and please do good for them and walk away.
We say “God please can you do kindness with their soul can you do good with their soul because we will do something good in their memory and so when we tell God that we will change our own paths.
When we say that the memory of those who we loved and lost is going to inspire us to do good , their memory becomes alive their own inspiration their own spirit live in our good deeds and so in this card we marked a time of closure and a time of beginning.
It’s a time of closure because it’s a time of remembering those who we love so much and lost and missed and yet it’s also a time of beginning because it’s a time we say Hashem we will change our paths.
We’re gonna give charity. We’re gonna be kinder to others.
We’re going to do more meets vote in their memory and in that merit of the good deeds that we’re doing may their souls be considered alive and may they receive reward for the good deeds that they are inspiring within us.
May the memories of all those who we love be a blessing to us and may our good deed be a blessing to them.
